Overview

The Saskatchewan Research Council’s (SRC) Rare Earth Element Division has opportunities for Construction Labourers to provide general support for construction of SRC’s Rare Earth Processing Facility. This position is open to varying experience levels, ranging from recent high school graduates with an interest in working alongside experienced trades to candidates with a background in construction or industrial environments. There is room to grow with SRC as there may be opportunity for successful Construction Labourers to transition to an operator role once the REE facility is operational.

Accountabilities

  • Provide general assistance to the construction team and tradespeople (i.e. Journeyperson Plumbers, Pipefitters, Electricians)
  • Duties include sorting and organizing materials, painting, assembling and installing a variety of equipment and possible light fabrication
  • Assist with installation, repair and maintenance of plant equipment
  • Organize and clean the facility and construction site

Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and provide help where needed
  • A team player with effective communication, multitasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Telehandler experience is considered an asset
  • Forklift and crane operation certifications are essential

Requirements

  • Valid Graduated Class 5 driver’s license
  • Some heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required
  • Ability to work in the varying weather conditions

All necessary job-related training will be provided.

The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.

This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
