Business Analyst Job Details
This program will replace COMPANY-CIS, the legacy tariff billing system with Oracle Customer Cloud Service (CCS), the Software as a Service (SaaS) offering of Oracle Utilities Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) and Meter Data Management (MDM) products.
Business Analyst Responsibilities
- Participate in design sessions with the systems integrator and the COMPANY team to validate business processes
- Validate business processes and decisions deemed common between the Distribution Utilities (Gas and Electric), escalating as required to the Program Manager.
- Analyze data cleansing reports and work with the Program Business Leads to prioritize and facilitate data cleanup activities with the responsible work groups
- Validate test scenarios and provide input into test management plans and test scenarios
- Assist with activities related to Requirements Traceability Matrix, as required
- Assist the Change Management Lead with various activities related to Program start-up (e.g., project planning, KPI/metric development, dashboard planning, etc.)
- Work with change management workstream to identify, quantify, and report on the impact of business process changes on roles and responsibilities of end business users
- Assist the training workstream by contributing insights from business process design into training plans and materials
- Minimum of 7+ years in a business analyst capacity with demonstrable progression of responsibilities
- Business Analyst certification required with preference given to IIBA designations
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or business analytics
- Strong consultation, collaboration, and facilitation skills to assess business requirements
- Ability to effectively represent the customer’s perspective in business requirements workshops
- Broad knowledge of Customer Care and Billing processes from an end-to-end perspective and broad understanding of utility business processes and systems an asset
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to determine root causes and identify alternative solutions to business problems, and facilitate continuous improvement
- Excellent process modeling skills using process modeling software like iGraphx, Visio and others
- Superior writing and presentation skills with proven experience producing concise and accurate reports and presentations
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills, prioritization, time management, and project planning
- Skilled at working and thriving in a dynamic project environment where workloads and priorities can change and meeting deliverable deadlines are critical to project success
- Proven effectiveness working both independently and as an integral part of a team with a track record of building strong working relationships
- Strong to expert skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and skilled at using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
- Intermediate to strong skills using Jira
- Experience with Power BI and dashboard development an asset
