JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Care and the supervision by the Clinical Resource Nurses, the Health Unit Clerk (HUC) is responsible for providing clerical and resident related support to the Resident Care Units.

The position will promote the Mission of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate by supporting the core values regarding the provision of quality care, loving environment, Christian ideals and principles, respect for life and dignity of person and preservation of our traditional ethnic customs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education

a) Grade X11

b) Medical Terminology required

c) Health Unit Clerk Certificate required

d) Completion of relevant computer courses: Microsoft office software including Outlook, Word and Excel

2. Experience

a) Previous experience in working in a health care environment preferred.

3. Personal

a) Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

b) Demonstrate a mature professional manner.

c) Excellent interpersonal skills.

d) Excellent organizational skills.

e) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

f) Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work environment and new initiatives.

g) Good mental and physical health.

h) Promote and practice respectful workplace policy.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.
