Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the guidance of the Financial Controller, the Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely follow-up on all Accounts Payable activities and discrepancies. This position will be expected to provide effective and efficient service in Accounts Payables and Finance and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

  • Daily management of Accounts Payable functions, including weekly cheque runs, supplier reconciliations and monthly obligations
  • Receive and organize invoices electronically. Coordinate for approvals and enter relevant data into the accounting system.
  • Process purchase orders
  • Prepare AP cheques and EFT payments
  • Process employee expense claims and cheque requests
  • Prepare AP accrual for invoices not received at month end
  • Coordinate corporate procurement card monthly activities
  • Prepare assigned month end journal entries
  • Reconcile all AP and assigned Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Remain flexible to cross train and take on new tasks

Education And Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in accounting/finance or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships with team members
  • Aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail in their work
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel)
  • Analytical ability and previous experience with corporate accounting is preferred
  • Prior experience with JDE accounting software is an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Gaming Registration within applicable province (New Brunswick).

  • Regular office environment, fast paced with multiple priorities, deadlines and deliverables; schedule flexibility may be required.
