On behalf of our government client, Procom is searching for an IT Procurement Specialist for a 6-month contract opportunity. This position is primarily remote with a monthly onsite meeting in Edmonton, Alberta.
Procurement Specialist - IT Senior Job Details
Our client is seeking a highly skilled IT Procurement Specialist to support the creation of new service offerings, including the Digital Office Experience and Boardroom as a Service projects. This role is essential in modernizing IT procurement processes and ensuring the successful implementation of managed print services and video conferencing solutions across all departments.
Procurement Specialist - Responsibilities
- Develop and manage procurement and contracting documentation to ensure transparent, fair, and efficient procurement processes.
- Collaborate with business and IT leadership to define project plans, including objectives, scope, timeline, and resource requirements.
- Manage procurement aspects of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and governance requirements.
- Produce and present procurement deliverables to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Document and report project status, facilitating issue tracking and resolution.
- Support project schedule development, resource estimation, and task monitoring.
- Relevant post-secondary education in supply chain, procurement, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in large, complex procurement processes.
- Proven experience in business writing and communications for executive or senior management.
- In-depth understanding of public sector procurement processes, trade agreements, and competitive bid law.
- Expertise in IT procurement processes for solutions and services within the public sector.
- Experience in leadership or facilitation roles (5 years).
- Conducting or facilitating sessions involving internal and external stakeholders (4 years).
- Developing and releasing RFPs, NRFPs, RFQs, and RFIs (5 years).
- Translating requirements into solicitation documents (5 years).
- Contract negotiation experience (5 years).
- Writing, evaluating, and negotiating with vendors through NRFP (4 years).
