JOB DESCRIPTION
The Audit Specialist role will provide you with the unique opportunity to strengthen and advance the specialized skillset in vendor auditing while working on challenging, complex, and rewarding assignments that will result in adding significant value to the organization. Additionally, this role offers exposure to joint venture audits, special projects, and process improvement opportunities.
- Job location: Calgary, Alberta
- Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts
- Travel: Occasional out of town Travel
- Application deadline: December 10, 2024
- Execute vendor and contract compliance audit assignments on contractors, subcontractors, and third-party suppliers
- Work collaboratively with project management, supply chain management, functional managers, and vendors
- Ensure billings and charges for services contracted and rendered are in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contracts and agreements
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports with detailed findings and supporting appendices, summarizing overcharges and incorrect billings if any for cost recovery
- Identify and recommend improvements on internal control deficiencies
- Follow up regularly with management and vendors, ensuring identified issues and concerns are satisfactorily resolved and all audits executed are closed in a timely manner
- Participate in the negotiations of audit claims
- Bachelor’s degree (BComm or Accounting preferred)
- Professional accounting designation such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- 5+ years’ industry experience (oil and gas auditing preferred)
- Familiarity with engineering, procurement and construction management practices or experience in auditing / administrating contracts is a definite asset
- Advance user of Excel and PowerBi
- Highly motivated, organized and able to work independently and in a team environment
- Commitment to maintaining strict confidence in dealing with sensitive information
