Apprenticeship Services Consultant - Female Mentor

The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) is seeking an Apprenticeship Services Consultant - Female Mentor for the Saskatoon office and surrounding area until June 30, 2026. This position will provide mentorship and coaching to female apprentices throughout the province, and a consultative and advisory service to both apprentices and employers related to women in apprenticeship training and with respect to The Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Act and the appropriate regulations or policy.
The successful candidate will perform the function of an Apprenticeship Services Consultant with a primary focus on supporting female apprentices through coaching and mentoring and working with employers to create an inclusive environment for women to succeed in their journeys to certification. You will have experience of tradespersons, apprentices, and journeypersons; monitoring apprenticeship training both in-school and on the job; providing informational and counseling services by phone and in-person to a diverse clientele; administering trade examinations; visiting job sites; promoting apprenticeship and trades careers to students, tradespersons, and employers through various venues; completing special assignments related to Commission representative workforce initiatives; and managing assigned work areas.
Our candidate of choice will have knowledge of work-based training principles and the apprenticeship and trade certification process. You will bring experience working as a female apprentice/journeyperson in trades with low female representation; and will have strong time-management skills. You will also be a strong writer/communicator being able to communicate information orally and in writing to a variety of audiences in a manner that persuades, convinces, builds support, educates, and promotes understanding. You will be able to conduct visits at jobsites; and will be required to travel frequently throughout the province, often in adverse weather conditions, to rural/isolated areas and to work away from home for varied periods of time.
To qualify for this position, you will possess a Red Seal Journeyperson Certification in any Red Seal trade. You will also possess a Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent, and a current and valid driver's license. This position is designated for women who self-declare in the online application.
