Overview of the Position
The Asset Protection & Inventory Analyst is responsible for auditing asset protection and inventory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), on-hands, and compliance. Based on audit results, this role will investigate the root causes of discrepancies and provide recommendations to help reduce discrepancies moving forward
This position is an on-site role, based in our beautiful Home Office, which is located at 475 Panet Road, in Winnipeg.
Key Accountabilities:
- Design and perform audits for the Stores and Distribution Centres regarding inventory, which include receiving, movement, and on-hands
- Design and perform audits for the Stores, Distribution Centres, and Home Office regarding asset protection, which include physical security, cash handling, internal risk, and external risk
- Utilize audit results to determine root causes of successes and failures
- Identify and correct missteps that lead to physical and cycle count errors
- Plan and execute the annual inventory counts in 3PL and stores
- Maintain a relationship with the annual count service provider, exploring new ways to improve the accuracy and speed of our counts
- Work with the Asset Protection & Inventory Specialists to recommend and implement process changes, improvements and/or programs aimed to ensure inventory accuracy and to mitigate risk
- Create process improvements and efficiencies internally
- Provide training and support regarding asset protection and inventory processes to new leaders in the business
- Assist in various projects as assigned, including but not limited to cost saving endeavors, automation, analyses into processes, and new technologies
- Partner with other departments as a subject matter expert on asset protection and inventory related projects. Provide data and information to other departments as needed.
- Be a champion, resource and source of knowledge for retail, distribution, and home office with regards to asset protection and inventory
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Post-secondary education in a related field an asset
- 2 years’ experience in an inventory related role
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Familiarly with data analysis/business intelligence tools and languages like Power BI, Tableau, DAX, m/power query, VBA, Power Automate, and SQL
- Python experience an asset
