What does your day look like as an Operations Superintendent?
- Planning and coordinating the loading and unloading of ships and/or terminal for handling general cargo and bulk shipments;
- Determining the equipment and labor needs required for operations;
- Managing and controlling the costs related to these operations;
- Enforcing health and safety guidelines in the workplace and for the environment;
- Supervising the teams under your responsibility;
- Preparing performance reports;
- Participating in the evaluation and improvement of processes;
- Ensuring that plans and strategies are followed and respected;
- Representing the company in various committees or meetings.
To succeed as an Operations Superintendent, you must have:
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience supervising unionized personnel;
- A college and/or university degree or any other combination of relevant experience and training;
- Bilingualism, both oral and written (French and English);
- The ability to work outdoors and on different shifts;
- Demonstrated autonomy, teamwork, flexibility, and judgment;
- Decision-making skills;
- A class 5 driver's license.
