WSP Canada is currently seeking to add a Project Manager to its Hydropower & Dams team, within the Power Canada division. Energy Canada, a team of over 300 passionate and talented people across Canada, is committed to helping clients meet the growing demand for green energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
As a Project Manager within the team, you will work closely with the hydropower and dams design teams and our market managers to lead and manage projects and business opportunities with our various clients. Under the supervision of the Project Management Discipline Leader, the successful candidate will ideally be based in one of our offices in Ontario or Atlantic regions.
Our Power Canada division supports our clients from coast to coast. Over the decades, we have developed a wide range of services, including technical study preparation in niche areas, project management, detailed design and site services. What you can expect to do here:
- Manage multidisciplinary projects in hydroelectricity and dams;
- Research, develop and maintain client relations;
- Evaluate project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, including the earned value method;
- Use and develop leadership skills on an ongoing basis;
- Attend conferences and training courses to maintain and develop new skills;
- Occasional travel for project meetings, site assessments, training and other purposes;
- Support project management processes, including opening, closing and quality assurance processes;
- Track change requests to ensure regular follow-up;
- Other duties as assigned/required, in project management and control, costs and schedules.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant field;
- 10+ years experience ideally within the hydropower and dams market;
- Experience in a Project Management role managing complex multidisciplinary projects;
- Member in good standing as a Professional Engineer within your province of practice preferred;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work;
- Ability to meet deadlines, execute and manage multiple tasks;
- Knowledge of planning software (MS Project or Primavera P6) considered an asset;
- MBA or PMP certification considered an asset; and
- Proactive approach to problem solving with good decision-making skills.
