Senior Accounting Technician in Grande Prairie

Our Client located in Grande Prairie, is looking for a Senior Accounting Technician to help grow their team. Do you enjoy working with a team and are willing to put in the time and effort to ensure a lasting positive impact on both the clients and the team you work with?

Do you thrive in the atmosphere and work habits that encompass working in a Public Practice firm and have 2-5 years of experience in a Public Practice Accounting firm? If you enjoy independence, accountability, and focus on services for clients first and foremost, then we have an opportunity for you.

Please note this is an IN OFFICE POSITION position.

Key Account Responsibilities and Function

• Preparing of corporate year ends, tax returns and financial statements
• Preparing of personal tax returns
• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions
• Bookkeeping
• GST returns and other filing requirements
• Work with accounting software and provide support to clients
• Correspondence with clients
• Develop and maintain relationships with client management
• Develop a thorough understanding of the clients services, businesses, and industry

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Accounting certificate or a bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration
• 2- 3 years of public accounting related experience is a REQUIREMENT
• CPA Designation would be an asset
• Understanding of payroll, bookkeeping, and record-keeping practices on manual and computerized system(s)
• Experience working with, or exposure to, accounting and tax software such as Caseware, Quickbooks, and Sage Accounting
• Strong working skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
