The Regional Director, Network Build will lead a team accountable for the execution of all network implementation activities associated with the fiber to the home and fixed wireless annual build program within the geographic region. Implementation activities include development of the detailed design (fiber + fixed wireless), BOM, scope prioritization, progress monitoring and reporting, risk identification and mitigation planning, as well as 3rd party contract performance management. This role requires extensive collaboration across a matrixed organization, including the national Program, Design, Supply Chain, Finance, and Network Operations teams. The Regional Director must be able to influence decisions like the assignment of critical resources, prioritize, and drive activities that will result in the successful delivery of the various fiber to the home and fixed wireless programs managed. The ultimate goal of this Director’s team is to ensure that capital allocated for Network upgrade programs is managed efficiently and on time to deliver on the organization’s ambitious network build objectives.
In additional to network build accountabilities, this role will be accountable for network field operations (fiber & fixed Wireless network) including repair & maintenance. The Director will report on active and projected status of the network in their region, and be directly accountable for trouble remediation, scheduled maintenance, and construction execution based on engineering standards. Working in collaboration with their regional counterparts, the Director will develop and execute the capital investment plans that will meet demand and product requirements, for both current customers and new growth. They will be accountable to manage the budget associated with the fiber to the home and fixed wireless annual build plan for their region, and will provide accurate forecasting and variance reporting. Although not directly accountable for operating expenses in the Network, they will be responsible to provide guidance and recommendations on potential opex savings and efficiencies. This role is responsible for supporting our customer first philosophy and business objectives through operational procedures that encompass the use of technology to improve process and accuracy, compliance with regulations and license agreements, and ensuring accurate reporting. The Regional Director will ensure high quality work and a strict adherence to safety standards while continuously improving current systems and work processes to deliver exceptional customer service and quick response times. The Regional Director will maintain strategic client relationships and support vendor/contractor management, ensuring infrastructure stability and overall network performance.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Strategic planning and leadership skills, with proven record of successfully executing strategic business initiatives.
- Excellent leadership skills; ability to drive and motivate team to achieve results; ability to influence and inspire action through strong decision-making skills.
- Continuous monitoring of ongoing programs and provide clear and real-time status of the various milestone of all Network build programs
- Proactively identify risk to successful program delivery and ensure proper mitigation plans are in place to overcome such risks
- Manage the performance of various 3rd party vendors and suppliers through monitoring performance against established SLAs and commitments, and driving issue resolution to ensure continuous contract compliance
- Prepare communication plans for network deployment programs to translate plans into executable deployments
- Manage inter-regional and inter-program priorities
- Drive alignment and collaboration with key interlock partners, including within the Network organization and with other business units
- Inspire and enable talent within the overall team and promote employee engagement across the organization while focusing on a positive team culture
- Self-motivated; able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with other to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high quality solutions.
- Demonstrated success in identifying talent and building individual and management capability; proven track record of building successful organizations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- 10+ years of working in the telecommunications industry, with both wireless & wireline network experience
- 7+ years of working in a senior management position, preferably leading within a large organization
- Extensive experience with successfully driving completion of large, multi-stakeholder, complex implementation programs
- Excellent presentation & communications skills, with experience presenting to senior executives
- Demonstrated business & financial acumen
- Strategic thinker who can translate complex plans into actionable steps
- A strong collaborator that is able to influence process transformations
- An inclusive team leader that advocates for diversity and inclusion within the team
- Passionate about making a difference and leading transformations that will bring positive change to the business
- Focused on continuous process improvement and innovative problem solving
- Experience in people management roles - a skilled manager with experience building and mentoring a team of engineering/network professionals; has had the experience of recruiting, developing, motivating and retaining a team that is collaborative, hard-working and adaptable to a working environment that is fueled by a highly passionate and committed team.
