Your role and responsibilities

The quality and innovation of the engineering of our products, systems, and services keep our customers at the forefront. Developing solutions for our clients all over the world and working on our market-leading technologies will stimulate and enrich your work and mind. ABB Measurement & Analytics of Québec is a world leader in spectroscopy and the largest Canadian supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for greenhouse gas emissions monitoring and weather forecasting worldwide. Our factory is also recognized for its expertise in the development and manufacture of various products that meet several industrial analyses needs on a daily basis.

By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Québec (Canada), you will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary engineering team.

As a Systems Specialist, you will contribute to the writing and management of the documentation required for the development of instruments in the space and defense (SDS) domain, particularly the documents required in systems engineering. The desired candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with proposal and project teams.

  • Contribute to developing, maintaining and managing all technical documentation related to client projects mainly in English and sometimes in French.
  • Collaborate in writing proposals to meet the specific needs of potential clients.
  • Review the content of technical documents to ensure their clarity, accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage documentation models and ensure the storage and archiving of project documents and ensure the storage and archiving of project documents.
  • Provide training and support to project teams on technical writing and documentary standards, tools and processes.
  • Actively participate in planning and estimation tasks for projects and proposals.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of document management.


Qualifications For The Role

  • Bachelor's degree in science or in a field involving technical writing in English with a minimum of five years of experience in optical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear and concise documentation.
  • Strong time management and work organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Mastery of the following tools: Office Suite, Windchill (document management), MATLAB or Python, DOORS (or other requirements management tool), and Magic Draw (Model-based Systems Engineering).
  • Bilingual (spoken and written). French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
