The Opportunity:

Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Cashier at St. Norbert Food Store located at 3477 Pembina Hwy, in Winnipeg. This position reports to the Grocery Manager. The Cashier adds value to our Co-operative by providing exemplary customer service that is fast, friendly, and efficient to all members.

Essential responsibilities of the position include:

  • Operate a cash register, take payment from customers and provide change.
  • Deliver fast and friendly service to members and customers.
  • Educate customers on the benefits of membership in Red River Co-op and encourage them to join.

This vacancy requires morning availability starting at 6:45am, including weekends and weekdays.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. We’re looking for someone who builds great relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Strong customer focus and interest in serving others.
  • Good mental math skills.
  • Experience working in a retail environment. Specifically, experience handling cash would be an asset.
  • Availability to work 24-32 hours per week.
