Program Supervisor – Excel Discovery
Term Position until May 23, 2025 – with the possibility of extension

The Program – ExCel Discovery
Enviros ExCel Discovery is an Open Custody program in Alberta, housing six youth with open custody sentences. Designed to meet the needs of adolescent offenders, it supports their transition from secure custody to community life with integrated treatment in areas like addictions, education, and mental health.
The Position
This role involves direct involvement and support for the program, staff, youth, and community partners, ensuring day-to-day operations adhere to program protocols and Enviros policy.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of staff members (up to 10).
- Consult with and report to the Custody Operations Branch.
- Collaborate with Calgary and Edmonton Young Offenders Centers.
- Maintain Accreditation standards.
- Oversee documentation and case management.
- Manage staffing schedules.
- Join the leadership team.
- Approve staff timesheets and time-off requests.
- Support group care on-call duties.
- Attend and conduct leadership and staff meetings.
- Manage budget adherence with the program manager.
- Conduct staff performance evaluations and training.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met.

- Subject matter expertise in child and youth care programs.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

- Effective feedback and supervision skills.
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education in a Human Services field.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Experience with youth affected by trauma.
- Knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (asset).
- CPR and first aid certification.
Other Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 5 GDL not accepted).
- A clean driver's abstract with minor or major offences limited.
- Police Record Check with Vulnerable sector check.
- Child Intervention Check.
