The Small and Medium Business (SMB) team of TELUS Mobility Solutions’ organization is dynamic, entrepreneurial, and highly engaged. SMB Wireline Strategy and Planning team leads the management of the SMB Wireline P&L, as well as senior leadership presentations and analytical deep dives. We are looking for a high-energy, curious, and results-oriented individual to join the SMB Strategy and Planning team in the role of Strategy Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for the annual, quarterly, and monthly financial planning process of all ARPU (Average Revenue per Unit) related KPIs for our rapidly-growing segment.You will also lead strategic reviews, business casing, and deep dives geared towards executive decision support,and serve as a strategic partner for our Marketing teams.
You are someone who excels in a business ownership environment and wants to have their finger on the pulse of the business. You enjoy working with large and complex data sets to uncover insights to drive continuous improvements. You’re able to work collaboratively and confidently with multiple stakeholders across different business units and levels. You can shift effortlessly from in-depth analysis to confidently articulate clear executive-facing recommendations.
Here's how:
- Lead the development of the annual and long-term Wireline Product ARPU plan for the SMB segment
- Lead or contribute to semi-annual strategy reviews and presentations
- Own the monthly forecasting process and deliver monthly performance updates to our senior leadership team
- Set targets for and monitor daily performance of ARPU related KPIs
- Investigate changes to underlying performance and uncover areas of opportunity and risk to the P&L
- Collaborate with Pricing, Finance, and Business Intelligence teams to minimize areas of risk, execute on areas of opportunity, and ensure alignment between financial commitments and actual results
- Explore and build report automations and executive dashboards related to product ARPU in Tableau /Domo
Qualifications
You're the missing piece of the puzzle
- Team player that’s creative, entrepreneurial, and willing to experiment
- Expert understanding of financial modeling and statistical forecasting techniques
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and develop solutions to critical financial business challenges
- Expert ability to collaborate and verbally and visually communicate effectively with all levels of management, including senior executives
- Manage ambiguity and synthesize complex information into meaningful information and recommendations
- Deep insight of the fundamentals of taking a problem, conducting analysis, building recommendations, and executing on those recommendations
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics or other related fields
- You have 3-5 years of experience building financial models, business cases, and strategic documents
- Experience using analytic and reporting tools (e.g. Excel, Domo, Tableau, Power BI, PowerPoint, etc.) and the ability to understand complex data as well as providing meaningful insight to others
Great-to-haves
- Consulting, strategy or finance background
- Telecommunications expertise and/or wireline experience
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree or equivalent in Finance or Statistics, Chartered Financial Analyst or similar designation
- 3-5 Years+ of experience in Finance / Data Analytics
- SQL – experience writing queries to extract and convert data into meaningful insights
Salary Range: $73,000-$109,000 Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 12%
