Role description:
Arcadis is currently seeking an Environmental Specialist for our Vancouver office in British Columbia. This position will integrate into a well-developed team of environmental engineers and scientists to provide technical support and leadership for supporting our different global business areas and multiple sectors. The successful candidate will lead programs and projects strongly focused on high quality of work, innovation, efficiency and productive client relationships. Arcadis provides numerous opportunities for technical growth through our internal national and global working groups.
Role accountabilities:
The successful candidate will provide leadership and technical expertise in support of ongoing Arcadis pursuits and environmental projects in various sectors including mining; oil and gas, infrastructure, brownfields and industrial re-development; utility, and power. They will assist with developing, mentoring and providing necessary oversight of multi-disciplinary teams with senior, junior and intermediate staff for carrying out various technical tasks and field programs for contaminated environmental management, site investigations, feasibility studies, and remediation design and implementation, construction monitoring, obtaining environmental permits/approvals for construction and monitoring for compliance with permit conditions.

The salary range for this position is $110,000-150,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Conduct reviews of technical reports as a CSAP and provide advice on regulatory requirements to project managers and
- Support service area planning and goal setting, working with other senior level staff across Canada to provide integrated services for current and prospective clients, and actively participate in local, national and international collaborative opportunities.
- Assist in business development activities.
- Maintain positive and long-term professional working relationships with client contacts, contractors, regulators, engineering consultants, and external agencies.
- Contribute to ongoing technical knowledge and innovation initiatives within Arcadis.
- Support and drive Arcadis quality, health and safety, and performance management systems.
- 12 to 15+ years of professional experience;
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Geoscience. A graduate degree is preferred in civil or environmental engineering or hydrogeology.
- Registration with a professional association in British Columbia
- Member of the Society of Contaminated Site Approved Professionals of British Columbia. Eligible candidates will also be considered.
- Valid driver’s license required;
