Located within the Mihalcheon School of Management, CUE’s Information Systems Security and Assurance department offers masters and graduate diploma degrees in Information Systems Security and Assurance. The degree programs are designed to offer a broad-based, comprehensive study of subjects as pillars for training industry leading cybersecurity and information systems auditing professionals. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and continued success of our curriculum tracks.
This position is available to begin July 1, 2025, or shortly thereafter
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required:
- PhD in Business, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, at the time of hiring.
- An active Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) professional designation; or the ability/willingness to become CISA or CISSP certified within one year after the start of employment.
- An MBA degree or master’s degree in a related field and/or proof of successful completion of at least 2-3 financial and/or managerial accounting courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have several of the following competencies:
- Experience in teaching Financial Accounting and/or Information Systems Audit courses.
- A track record of publications in the field of accounting, audit, governance, and/or cybersecurity, and the potential to reach a level of research excellence in the future.
- Working knowledge of IT analytical tools such as ACL, IDEA, or an advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of academic programs, with a commitment and ability to advance the quality and content of programs, courses, initiatives, and the student learning experience.
- A willingness and ability to take on academic administrative duties, such as serving on various academic committees and/or serving as a future department chair.
- Demonstrated ability to work collegially as a team member with a variety of teams and stakeholder groups.
- A commitment to lifelong learning and continual professional development.
The normal graduate teaching assignment is 6 hours a week for the first year and 9 hours a week for subsequent years. CUE provides opportunities for reductions in teaching to pursue research. In addition, the successful candidate will be committed to growing professional relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the broader community, promoting diversity and inclusion as broadly understood.
