We are seeking a talented individual to join our rapidly growing company as an Accounts Receivable and Payable Specialist. Reporting to the Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Supervisor, this person will play a key role in the company's accounting and finance team, overseeing accurate and on-time collections from customers and payments to its suppliers, for Frontier Dental and its affiliate parties.
In this dynamic position, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a close-knit team, contributing to major projects and assisting in the day-to-day management of our expanding finance functions.
The key responsibilities and how you will make an impact:
Accounts Receivable:
- Post customer payments and reconcile balances with main customers through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Deposit and post incoming cheques.
- Record and apply customer credit card payments.
- Communicate with our customers for payment reminders and follow up on overdue amounts. Both for clients across Canada and the USA.
- Reconcile all customer payments to the bank, supporting the accounting team for bank reconciliations.
- Support on the preparation of weekly AR Aging reports with work allocations and follow up actions. This includes an allocation of customers to be contacted, accounts requiring further investigation, credits to be issued, and collection calls to be made daily.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with our customers. Both in Canada and the USA.
- Prepare demand letters and work with management on suggested accounts to be sent to collections.
- Reconcile balances with main customers through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Reconcile and analyze high-volume transactions from multiple ecommerce platforms
- Work with Sales and Customer Service teams on invoice discrepancies and account investigations.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and coordination skills with different departments, managing communication with in-house and external customers.
- Ad hoc AR reports and analysis as requested and conduct variance analyses on net working capital accounts.
Accounts Payable:
- Post payments to vendors through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Reconcile balances with main vendors through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ad hoc AP reports and analysis as requested and conduct variance analyses on net working capital accounts.
You are our ideal candidate if you have:
- Undergraduate degree in business/accounting is a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) roles, with a strong understanding of financial processes and transaction management.
- Possess a positive, customer-focused attitude.
- Eager to build on customer rapport and relationships through various forms of communication including and most importantly verbal communication and follow-ups
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a strong desire and ability to work with cross-functional leaders and their teams.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and automation.
- Strong attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy.
- Some experience in a startup, fluid, nimble environment – a strong asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience utilizing ERP systems (Acumatica or otherwise) is a plus.
