We are currently seeking a Line Technician to join our operations in a permanent, full-time position in Canada and the United States. The Line Technician is involved in all facets of outside plant construction including Fibre Optics, Copper, and RF Coax. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

As a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to travel across the Atlantic provinces, with daily per diem and accommodations provided by the company. This role requires a willingness to travel, work a minimum of 40 hours per week, and have a valid driver’s license and reasonable driver’s abstract.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate vehicle-mounted aerial device equipment;
  • Operate cable lashing machines and other lineman equipment;
  • Load and unload equipment and cable trailers;
  • Outside Plant (OSP) line construction with coax, copper, and fibre cables;
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting if required;
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, and isolation;
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere, including carrying, raising, and climbing a ladder, and handling heavy equipment;
  • Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license (preference for Class 3 and above);
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or emergency call outs as required;
  • Pass a criminal record check.

Experience Required

  • 1+ years of Line Technician related experience in a telecommunications environment preferred;
  • Technical training or lineman training/certification considered an asset;
  • Preference for candidates with telecommunications experience in outside plant construction (OSP) and FTTx projects.
