Salary: $41,495.00/year - $46,106.00/year
Start Date: Immediately

What qualifications are we looking for?
- Experience with Workers Compensation Board (WCB) of Alberta case management is an asset.
- Experience with return-to-work planning and facilitation is an asset.
- Knowledge of disability management procedures and protocols.
- Knowledge of Alberta occupational health and safety legislation.
- Understanding of how to manage and record information for workplace injury and illness claims.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and can learn internal database systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Post-Secondary education in a related field, e.g., human resources, occupational health and safety, or insurance/risk management is an asset.
- Ability to work at and/ or move between multiple YMCA Calgary facilities.
- Current Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.
- Three professional references.
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check.
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Workplace Injury & Illness
- Act as the subject matter expert for YMCA Calgary’s workplace injury & illness system.
- Receive, review, and submit workplace injury & illness reports to the Workers Compensation Board of Alberta.
- Effectively track workplace injuries & illnesses to identify trends and propose solutions.
- Create, facilitate, and coordinate appropriate return-to-work plans and outcomes collaboratively across the association.
- Mitigate risk to YMCA Calgary through the interpretation of legislation, policy, case files, and medical reports.
- Ensure compliance in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and goals set by the Workers Compensation Board of Alberta.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the association.
- Communicate proactively with the Health, Safety & Risk department regarding any case management issues.
- Produce monthly, quarterly & annual reports on WCB statistics, including industry comparisons.
First Aid & CPR
- Support customer & staff registration in First Aid & CPR-C courses.
- Schedule First Aid & CPR-C courses based on association need.
Formal Hazard Assessments
- Support the completion of annual formal hazard assessments by department across the association.
Health, Safety & Risk
- Be an advocate for health, safety & risk across the association.
- Be an active part of the Health, Safety & Risk department by engaging with and attending team meetings, functions, and events.
