Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals with varying needs, including those with dementia, disabilities, or those residing in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized support and care.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Help with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
  • Administer medication as directed and monitor client health conditions.
  • Support clients in mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Document client progress and communicate any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with family members and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, especially in dementia care or home care settings.
  • Knowledge of patient care practices and the ability to assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and their families.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the clients.
  • Certification in first aid or CPR is a plus but not mandatory.
  • A compassionate attitude and a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual.

Pay: $20.50-$23.00 per hour.

Expected hours: 2 – 40 per week.
