The Sovereign General Insurance Company is looking for a Business Systems Analyst - PolicyCenter. As the Business Systems Analyst - PolicyCenter, you will liaise between the team and business stakeholders for functionality enhancements and new developments. You will be a part of an exciting team responsible for translating concepts and requirements into client focused and effective system-based solutions. You will contribute to complex and diverse initiatives through formulating and defining system scope and objectives based on both user needs and a comprehensive understanding of the applicable business applications.

How you will create impact:

  • Negotiating with and influencing stakeholders through the elicitation, documentation, and validation of requirements on enhancement initiatives involving various Business areas.
  • Guiding the assessment and selection of technical solutions, risk analysis, and functional specifications, acting as intermediary between the team and Business stakeholders.
  • Performing detailed data analysis, data modeling, mapping, and process flows to support system functionality, integrations, and conversations.
  • Employing a creative approach to problem solving, collaboration, relationship management, and communication to drive effective results.
  • Monitoring requirement traceability during design, development, and testing across multiple systems to ensure the solution aligns to the business benefits.
  • Providing project coordination on small scale projects or sub-projects, including the facilitation of agile ceremonies, planning, tracking, and estimation of deliverables.
  • Collaborating with internal/external IT teams across geographies, vendor partners, and Business departments to create cohesion and produce quality deliverables.
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of the Business Systems Analyst practice, devising improvements, establishing efficiencies, and providing coaching to other team members.

To join our team:

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification and/or International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) certification, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience delivering IT projects, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Prove experience in Agile practices, SDLC methodologies, processes, and tools as well as project planning methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Visio, Excel, SharePoint, One Note/One Drive, and Outlook.
  • Experience working in project execution tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry, particularly with Commercial Insurance is an asset.
  • Prior experience with Guidewire product implementations (PolicyCenter) is a requirement.
  • Guidewire Certification (Associate, Professional, etc.) is an asset
