Job Description
Manulife Investment Management (MIM) Advisor Group delivers financial and investment solutions and advice, including financial planning and insurance, to clients across the wealth spectrum. The Wealth and Retirement Advisor is a senior member of a team of wealth advisors, delivering wealth and retirement advice to Manulife clients. The Advisor will be an employee of Manulife, advising clients from Manulife’s Group Retirement, Group Benefits, Insurance, Bank and other channels.
Position Responsibilities:
Relationship Management and Advice:
- Identify your client’s life and financial goals and build long-term relationships
- Provide financial planning advice and solutions using our array of investment and portfolio solutions, including best-in-class proprietary and third-party solutions
- Acquire and consolidate assets of clients and work with their families to provide advice
- Connect clients with the right Manulife partners to help continuously meet their needs
- Proactively connect with clients and respond to developing needs, resolve issues or problems and follow up as appropriate
Financial Planning and Client Experience:
- Conduct Financial Planning or collaborate with Financial Planners to create customized plans for clients with a complete and comprehensive lens on the client’s overall financial picture
- Work collaboratively with Manulife partners to provide added new value to clients
- Perform, together with the Client Support team, sales and service support activities to meet client needs and maintain overall service levels
- Follow through on the risk and compliance processes and policies to ensure we safeguard our clients’ assets, maintain their privacy, act in their best interests, and ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements
Required Qualifications:
- University degree and/or 3-5 years industry experience or equivalent
- Experience speaking directly with clients and conducting one-on-one client meetings
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) required
- CIRO license (formerly IIROC license) required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Life License (LLQP) will be required for the start date
- Complete Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH) within first 90 days of role
- CFP preferred
- Ability to develop long-lasting, trusted relationships with collaborators
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Natural propensity towards teamwork and collaboration; proven coachability
- Moderate travel within is required

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
