Claims Associate

Position Summary

To obtain proper credit from all Vendor Partners and control Inventory through proper merchandise handling procedures according to company guidelines while providing exceptional customer service to vendor partners, associates, as well as with customers while on the sales floor.

What you'll do

1. Assists in Shrink prevention by scanning all damaged and stolen merchandise in a timely manner.
2. Maintains all up-to-date returns, vendor return requests (RA), recalls, paperwork, packing and shipping ensuring they are completed in a timely manner and within any deadlines as per Company guidelines. Handle all SORT, and Global Donation Merchandise.
3. Ensuring safety practices are being followed continuously, i.e., chemicals are properly disposed, claims area is kept neat, clean and free of hazards, proper ladder usage and lifting techniques.
4. Monitors merchandise being returned through claims and protects assets by ascertaining proper process and handling in regard to shrink, in order to keep charge backs to a minimum. Recording and monitoring returns and shrink wins within the store.
5. Maintains up-to-date knowledge about Company policies, guidelines and processes regarding the handling of damaged and recalled merchandise and ensures all New Store Programs and systems are implemented and followed on a continuous basis.
6. Ensures that the Return Manual is being followed by keeping claims current, keeping charge backs to a minimum, and ensuring Vendor Return Request Forms are completed for all claims over 45 days old.
7. Completes all GM CVP (Customer Value Program).
8. Provides support to Office Support Associate (OSA) and directs Store Delivery Associate as required.
