Job Description

Wood is currently seeking a Senior Process Engineer in Sarnia, ON to expand our team within the Oil, Gas & New Energies Canada business. The successful candidate will be engaged in projects across several areas including oil and gas (upstream, midstream, downstream), energy transition and petrochemical industries. Responsibilities

  • Use strong technical knowledge to complete process engineering deliverables and tasks with minimal guidance and direction.
  • Develop process simulations and heat and material balances.
  • Conduct process equipment and line sizing and optimize process control strategy to support PFD and P&ID development.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines. Interface with Clients.
  • Complete conceptual studies through to detail engineering stages within timeline and budget.
  • Coordinate/Supervise a team of process engineers offering support and guidance to junior and intermediate process engineers.
  • Perform checking of all process engineering deliverables in accordance with industry codes, standards and guidelines, and client specifications.
  • Conduct regular reporting, scheduling, resource planning and coordination with workshare offices.
  • Keep updated on technical skills and on new technologies in industry.

Qualifications

  • Currently registered or eligible for registration with PEO.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience with the majority spent working in refining, petrochemicals or oil & gas industries.
  • Must be proficient in HYSYS and/or ProMax.
  • Must have client facing skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication (English) skills.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload to meet deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Must be able to coordinate with team members in other workshare offices.
  • PHA experience is required.
