THE ROLE
Imagine the excitement of showcasing your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months working in a retail store for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations! As a deployed Retail Coordinator and Supervisor, you're not just providing retail services; you're enhancing the morale and welfare of the deployed troops.
The Retail Coordinator and Supervisor are part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy meaningful employment in a team-based environment. Excited by the opportunity to deploy as a civilian among CAF personnel abroad, you are a team player with a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting, able to adapt to new challenges in an ever-changing dynamic environment.
You oversee the distribution of merchandise to outlets and maintain adequate stock levels. You coordinate and plan the shipping and receiving of merchandise and implement and maintain loss prevention controls. You're responsible for an effective monthly inventory of the store and managing contracts, with an understanding of the store’s financial statements, inventory management, and supply chain.
The Supervisor is selected from the pool of Coordinator candidates after successful completion of the Training and Selection Course. The Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the retail team and operations. Responsibilities include enforcing health, hygiene, safety, and security standards; preparing regular cash audits; periodic reconciliation of deposits; authorizing refunds, voids, and returns; and holding keys, safe combinations, and access codes.
The Retail Coordinator/Supervisor plays an important role in enhancing the morale of CAF and partner nations by assisting with recreational activities and events, ensuring military personnel are mentally and physically ready for military operations.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
- An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
- Canadian citizenship
- Must have a valid Canadian passport
- Valid Canadian driver’s license (Class G or Class 5)
Experience
- In personnel administration
- In cash handling
- In administrative procedures
- In applying policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
- In inventory control and financial administration
- In maintaining specified inventory and ordering merchandise
- In preparing sales/merchandise reports
Additional Supervisor Experience
- In organizing functions
Competencies
- Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork, and leadership.
Additional Qualifications Prior to Deployment
- Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment
- Security screening
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
- Ability to walk and lift, carry, pull/or push heavy items
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- English Essential
- Bilingual (English and French) Essential with the following language profile:
Reading: Functional
Writing: Functional
Oral: Functional
Candidates meeting the Bilingual Essential requirement will be considered for all available positions (both English Essential and Bilingual Essential).
JOB INFORMATION
- POSITION TYPE: Civilian deployment contracts are 6 month terms. Deployment start dates may occur within the next 2 years.
- COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Salary: $31,895 – $46,115 for six months
- Hours of work: Maximum 56 hours per week, including weekdays and weekends.
- Tax-free allowance: Possibility of up to $1,716 per month in addition to salary (rates based on mission/location/date).
- Home Leave Travel Allowance (Vacation): Possibility of paid leave.
- Accommodations and meals: Provided for duration of deployment.
- Health Benefits: Drug coverage, travel insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
- Excursions: Possibility to explore local culture through activities like excursions off base.
- LOCATION: Camp Adazi, Latvia

IF SUCCESSFUL – SELECTION AND TRAINING COURSE
Successful candidates will be invited to participate in a multi-day training and selection course.
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Date: April 25, 2025 - May 4, 2025
Compensation: Fully paid attendance, including travel, accommodations, and meals
Purpose: Learn about day-to-day expectations, technical work-related training, a basic understanding of military practices, and interact with those deploying with you. Completion of the training is valid for 2 years.
