Speciality Fitness Instructor 2 Position Overview
Do you love fitness, dance, and inspiring others? We’re seeking energetic, personable, and certified Specialty Dance Fitness Instructors to bring the joy of movement to our community through fun, engaging classes like Zumba!As a Specialty Dance Fitness Instructor, you’ll create an uplifting environment where participants of all ages and fitness levels feel motivated and supported. Your strong communication and people skills will help foster a sense of community, while your passion for health and wellness will keep participants excited to return.What You’ll Do:
Lead Dynamic Dance Classes: Design and lead specialty dance fitness classes, such as Zumba, that are engaging and accessible to participants at various fitness levels.
Ensure Safety First: Maintain a safe environment by demonstrating proper form and offering clear, adaptable instructions to meet each participant’s needs.
Encourage and Motivate: Build a positive, inclusive atmosphere where participants feel comfortable, energized, and inspired to move.
Create Memorable Experiences: Use your energy and enthusiasm to keep classes lively, enjoyable, and memorable for everyone involved.What We’re Looking For:
Overtime rates will apply to all hours worked in excess of an average of forty (40) hours per week in a two-week period or eight 8) hours in a day. It is expressly stated that the eight (8) hours in a day, need not be consecutive but must be completed within twelve (12) hours from the start of the shift. Overtime pay shall be paid for all hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours within the twelve (12) hour period from the start of the shift.Article 22 – Payment of Wages and Allowances
Dependent on registration, employees working in these classifications shall be a minimum of one (1) hour to a maximum of eight (8) hours in a day. Wherever practicable, the Employer will endeavor to provide employees working in these classifications with a minimum of two (2) consecutive hours of work.
Employees working in these classifications will be paid an additional fifteen (15) minutes for each class instructed for program set up, take down, and customer service.Article 22.08 Fees and Licenses
Employees in these classifications are solely responsible for the fees associated with the holding of specialized certifications (i.e. Zumba). - Certified instructors in specialty dance fitness, particularly Zumba
- Team-oriented professionals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passionate about health, wellness, and the power of dance to promote fitness
- Confident in demonstrating dance fitness routines and providing modifications for diverse abilities
- Enthusiastic, approachable, and dedicated to making fitness enjoyable for all participants
- Sound knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, standards, safety regulations and rules governing the work performed.
- Sound knowledge of current techniques and the principals of anatomy and physiology as it applies to the work performed.
- Sound knowledge of current industry standards and methods of practice as it applies to the work performed.
- Sound knowledge of various dance fitness programs, equipment and group dynamics.
- Ability to plan, develop, design and instruct dance specialty fitness exercise classes to assist participants of varying levels and ages in reaching their health and fitness goals
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and deal tactfully and diplomatically with a variety of participants.
- Ability to provide, select and utilize music appropriately to enhance class.
- Skill in the operation of a variety of equipment used in fitness facilities.
- Current Emergency First Aid and CPR ‘A’ certification.
- Specialty Designation (Zumba Certificate), or equivalent.
- Valid Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN) membership.
