The Opportunity:
WSP is currently seeking a Building Sciences Co-op Student during Summer 2025 to join our Buildings group, located at our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia office. Reporting to the Manager of Building Sciences, this position will be responsible for conducting site reviews and assisting our Junior and Intermediate Engineers on projects related to evaluation and restoration of existing building envelope/enclosure assemblies, including, but not limited to: exterior walls, cladding, windows, roofing, and below-grade waterproofing.

A day in the life:
- Apply technical knowledge to tasks on building envelope restoration & repair projects
- Work on project teams to perform building envelope evaluations & produce site reports
- Assist project teams with field testing of building envelope systems to meet ASTM standards
- Conduct building construction reviews, monitoring quality of installation and repairs
- Liaise with contractors, sub-consultants and engineering disciplines
- Contribute to the contract administration process on construction projects
- Accept responsibility for project tasks, deliverables and outcomes
- Apply sustainable thinking and practices within project delivery
- Contribute to the knowledge systems within the building science practice
- Other duties as assigned/required.
- Current student in a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma program in one of these disciplines - Civil, Structural, Building Sciences, Architectural Engineering, Architectural Drafting, or Construction Management;
- Minimum B average;
- Demonstrates a passion in building sciences, building envelope technology, or building construction;
- Previous co-op / summer work experience in the construction or engineering industry related to buildings is ideal;
- Excellent communicator. English is required, effectively able to communicate in French is an asset;
- A team player, amongst energetic, successful people;
- Strong at multi-tasking, organized and adaptable to shifting priorities;
- Security clearance with the federal government is an asset, but not required
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
