Role and Facility Information

Chilliwack General Hospital (CGH) seeks a full time community orthopaedic surgeon to join their group. The candidate will have fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine with experience in both arthroscopic and open procedures of the knee and shoulder. Training in orthopaedic trauma surgery is an asset. The successful applicant will:

Open an elective practice in Chilliwack, BC
Apply to the UBC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and teach both medical students and family practice residents
Provide MOCAP Level One on call coverage equivalent to a full time equivalent (FTE)
Provide scheduled orthopaedic surgery at CGH and work within the resources available

The successful applicant will work within a four-person orthopaedic group. They will collaborate with physician colleagues and allied medical professionals at CGH. They must have excellent interpersonal skills and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Chilliwack is a city in the province of British Columbia, Canada. It is approximately one hour east of Vancouver. Chilliwack is surrounded by mountains and home to recreational areas such as Cultus Lake and Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park. It boasts tremendous access to outdoor activities including camping, fishing, golf, hiking, kayaking and mountain biking. It is a rapidly growing city and is among the most affordable communities in the Lower Mainland.

New graduates must provide a letter of reference from their residency program director and fellowship supervisor. Anticipated start date is February 15, 2025 or earlier. Relocation allowance may be applicable.
