We’re Raise, and we’ve joined forces with our client, an Alberta-based solar company. Their goal is to provide Celan Energy Solutions for Canadians, that reduce costs and increase independence. They install solar systems with thousands of panels at a time. They support the commercial and industrial building sector. Their projects are on flat roofs and sheet metal roofs, and they use heavy machinery, run lots of pipe and pull wire. They also have expertise in battery storage and EV charging solutions. They get it done, do it right and make it look as best as possible.
As the new Solar Sales Leader, you’ll tap into your B2B sales skills & experience. Your primary objective in this role is to close deals. The secondary objective is to build a solid sales pipeline of solar projects to augment the existing business development and sales activities. This will be done by improving the current sales strategy and process, leveraging relationships, and demonstrating the company’s value.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Review and improve the company’s current sales strategy and processes
- Create and manage sales forecasts, set targets for company growth, and provide recommendations to management
- Identify and cultivate new opportunities
- Promptly follow up with all leads
- Create and provide proposals to customers
- Oversee and engage in contract negotiations to ensure terms meet the expectations of both the company and the customers
- Create relationships with businesses/individuals in our target market
- Maintain a company CRM database using PipeDrive
- Bring passion, excitement, and positivity to the job
- Generate weekly sales reports and review with management
- Work closely with the Operations teams to ensure projects are executed seamlessly after closing sales
- Develop a customer retention strategy to ensure long-term relationships, referrals, and repeat business
- Monitor and provide insights into competitor activities and industry trends to identify new opportunities to improve the company’s position in the market
- As the company grows, help onboard, train, and mentor new sales employees as needed
The Details
This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll work out of the Edmonton office Monday – Friday. In addition to a competitive base salary in the range of $70,000.00 - $100,000.00/year (commensurate with experience), you’ll also enjoy 2-2.5% commission on closed deals. benefits, and paid time off.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of successful commercial B2B sales experience, preferably in solar/renewable energy, or selling ‘optional’ value added products or services
- Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated ability of being able to sell to business owners and executives
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy, managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and CRM software
- Demonstrated track record of success with business-to-business (B2B) sales; meeting or exceeding sales targets with minimal oversight/direction
- Ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively to customers
- Ability to travel as required throughout Alberta
- Class 5 drivers license, with a professional and clean-looking vehicle
- Excellent network of authentic relationships
- Clearly defined sales process & strategy
- Project Management skills to effectively coordinate between sales and operations teams
- Familiarity with commercial buildings, construction methods, and roofing systems
- Knowledge of rooftop solar technology, opportunities, limitations, and value, is considered an asset
