We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Casino Gaming Strategy & Innovation Director who is accountable for the development and execution of the casino gaming strategic initiatives, in partnership with the VP, Casino Gaming & Horse Racing and other departmental stakeholders, in order to grow and optimize the casino gaming business. The Director will take a holistic approach to the casino gaming strategy including identifying and considering the competitive landscape, industry trends, player trends and both external and internal stakeholders. The role will influence casino gaming strategy decisioning utilizing leading qualitative and quantitative analysis of internal, research, and competitive data to assess strategic opportunities.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the VP, Casino Gaming & Horse Racing, you will be empowered to:

  • Understand OLG’s strategic and competitive position and the broader casino gaming strategy in order to identify and develop omnichannel strategies including the identification of growth opportunities that drive increased casino player participation that contributes to the achievement of enterprise priorities in a responsible manner.
  • Understand organizational health, articulate LBG organizational vision and enterprise strategic priorities, and effectively diagnose and make recommendations to solve complex issues that may span multiple teams (including decisions around prioritization, top-level goal alignment, and balancing impact with team delivery)
  • Provide strategic and data driven advice related to long-term portfolio innovation, lead the green lighting of projects / initiatives and support their transition to relationship teams.
  • Interface with Digital Product Owners and Centre of Excellence teams (ex. Enterprise Customer Strategy & Experience, Brand and Marketing and others) to prioritize and move forward long-term vision, mission, partnerships and related initiatives to drive growth in casino gaming.
  • Contribute to and influence the application of the enterprise category and brand management strategy for casino gaming in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with Digital and Lottery counterparts in order to identify and assess strategic cross sell and upsell opportunities between channels.
  • Act as a SME to support stakeholder discussions, to remove barriers and to drive management decision-making in order to successfully deliver on goals and objectives.
  • Advise the Casino Gaming Leadership Team in the execution of the overall customer experience strategy by leveraging customer insights, market intelligence, best practices and stakeholder feedback; facilitate the hand off to relationship teams to deliver on strategic opportunities (e.g., influence backlogs, marketing spend, contract strategy).
  • Identify casino opportunities within emerging and existing partnerships and bring forth opportunities to VP, Casino Gaming & Horse Racing.
  • Provide input into the divisional planning processes to drive effective investments and prioritization.
  • Review and continually reassess departmental objectives, priorities, and measure progress against the plan and bring forward recommendations to the VP, Casino Gaming & Horse Racing in order to increase overall effectiveness and speed of delivery.
  • Monitor and scan the casino landscape across North America and the globe to engage thought leaders for new products, initiatives, and related technologies for assessment and introduction to the Ontario marketplace.
  • Consistently build strong internal partnerships, influence through others, resolve conflict, build alignment and work effectively across teams to execute strategy.
  • Work in close partnership with digital and lottery in order to transition strategy into executable business requirements.
  • Work in close partnership with Brand & Marketing, Sports, Digital and the Casino Leadership team for marketing, partnerships and cross channel strategies.


What You Need To Play

Work Experience: Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in an enterprise strategy or business development role, Experience developing strategies across multiple teams with competing objectives, Experience working in an agile environment is an asset, Experience in a marketing strategy or business development role is an asset.

Education: University Degree in Business Management, Law or a related field is an asset, MBA or other advanced degree is an asset. A deep understanding of technology and business to determine strategies and how they’ll directly impact the business.

Critical Skills: Knows how to create trust and value while building enduring relationships. Identify and secure executive sponsorship to solidify business relationships and opportunities. Experience owning and overseeing multiple portfolio areas while creating buy-in and enthusiasm from peers, individual contributors, and other leaders. Experience influencing and leading strategies across multiple lines of business and matrixed teams. Experience identifying and analyzing complex, long term, critical problems facing the relevant areas of the business and drove solutions for them. Ability to understand several perspectives in the development process, including the needs of the user, capabilities of the developers, the vision of the stakeholders, and where the product stands in the market from a competitive standpoint. Must be an empathetic problem-solver who can define problems, viewing those problems from multiple perspectives, and brainstorming myriad solutions. Analytical, problem solver with solid understanding of competitive offering and industry trends. Strong communications and presentation skills
