Position Overview

To provide drafting, illustration and associated design change documentation services in direct support of aerospace Engineers, Technologists, and other personnel as required.

What You Will Do

  • Incorporate approved changes into the technical drawing package, create detail drawings of parts and assemblies including creation of parts lists and notes, and maintain the technical data package updates and Engineering Data Lists.
  • Proficiency in the maintenance of drawing hierarchy and conformance to international, DoD and DND drawing specifications
  • Create RESs and MEO’s against applicable drawing packages
  • Understand and comply with OEM (Lockheed, Leonardo, Sikorsky, etc) standard drawing practices.
  • Understand and comply with IMP Aerospace Standard Plant Procedures.
  • Understand and comply with IMP Aerospace computer-based program management and record keeping tools.
  • Understand and comply with DND CFTOs (Canadian Forces Technical Orders) and DoD NAVAIRs.
  • Develop and graphically represent modification & repair schemes in standard format.

What You Will Bring

  • Diploma in mechanical drafting from a recognized institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous exposure to computer aided drafting is required.
  • 0-6 years experience in drafting desirable, preferably in an Aerospace Engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of commercial or military aerospace drawing systems and methods is an asset.
  • Precise mind, organized, attention to detail, ability to work effectively with people of various disciplines.
  • Generally, work is conducted in an office environment. Some plant, shop and on aircraft work is required.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
