SECURITY & EMERGENCY PROGRAM ADVISOR:
($85,649 - $100,764 - Annually)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Security and Emergency Program Advisor is responsible for recommending strategies, procedures, and programs pertaining to safety, security, and emergency preparedness, facilitating their implementation across the province. Responsibilities include conducting safety and security audits, coordinating emergency responses, providing security services, managing access control, completing threat and risk assessments, and developing Business Continuity Plans.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in coordinating business continuity, fire safety, security, disaster response, or recovery programs.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the Employer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of security, fire safety, and emergency preparedness programs and practices.
- Understanding of safety, security, and emergency preparedness requirements for housing developments.
- Skills in program development, analysis, evaluation, and coordination.
- Knowledge of building technology and relevant codes.
- Analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and program/project coordination skills.
- Communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to work under pressure during emergencies and travel throughout the province.
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence and a Criminal Record Check required.
