Job Summary
How you will make an impact:
You will be responsible for setting and clearing tables, stocking all service stations and assisting with meal services.
As a Porter, you will:
- Performs duties including setting and checking of rooms according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO), clearing rooms following the completion of events, and setting up water stations as required. May perform general food service work including clearing of dishes from banquet rooms at the completion of events.
- Responsible for the transportation of food, beverage, furniture and deliveries within the building.
- Maintains customer service and sanitation standards in the preparation, service and dining room facilities.
- Assists in all functional aspects of the event set up and tear down, flips and preparation as directed by the hospitality manager based on applicable BEOs.
- Reviews daily event orders and brings any discrepancies or missing information to the notice of the Hospitality Manager and Supervisor immediately.
- Coordinates service requirements based on station needs and communicates shortages and needs to the Food & Beverage Supervisor.
- Must demonstrate the ability to apply common sense and understanding to a variety of situations. Must demonstrate a willingness and capacity to follow safe and healthful work practices. Observes safety and security procedures; reports all potentially unsafe conditions.

- Represents Company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions.
- Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
- Ensures all room sets are complete as per BEO requirements, and brings any discrepancies or questions to the immediate attending of the hospitality manager to be rectified.
- Follows and adheres to all sanitization standards, including following all daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules. Completes all required annual training on 24/7 and MyLMS as required.
- Ability to interact with customers, clients and leadership team in order to assure customer satisfaction.
- Makes changes to room sets as required, or complete room flips in a timely manner as required.
- Uses attention to detail to ensure that room sets are correct according to the BEO.
- Follows standard CGC and TD policies at all times.
About you:
- You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
- Previous work experience or training is an asset
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced and high-volume environment
- Demonstrate positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
