Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our Finance team in Kelowna, BC. As the successful candidate, you will work closely with the Controller who is responsible for general accounting functions, treasury, and financial reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Timely preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
  • Following corporate financial policies, government legislation, and accounting principles
  • Reviewing and resolving daily and monthly GL posting problems
  • Assist controller to provide detailed and reliable information to external auditors
  • Assist controller in variance analysis, planning cash management, insurance and other corporate financial requirements
  • Overseeing accounting procedures, internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing), and database management

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • CPA or equivalent designation is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree with an Accounting or Business major
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Knowledge and proven application of generally accepted accounting principles
  • A strong internal customer focus - the ability to develop, maintain, and nurture strong relationships with customers
  • High degree of self-motivation and ability to make decisions in consideration of facts, constraints, and anticipated consequences
  • Excellent communication skills, and proven ability to collaborate with team members
  • Ability to travel occasionally

  • A competitive base salary of $80,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually depending on skills and experience.
