Systems Analyst

The Systems Analyst designs information systems solutions to help the organization operate more efficiently and effectively. The System Analyst will formulate application scope and objectives, create detailed technical specifications, application design, and ensure quality assurance. Responsible for providing technical expertise on best practices.
How You'll Help:
- Understand and mitigate impact of system changes to existing systems and business processes; define the boundaries for any proposed changes and ensure changes are contained within these boundaries
- Provide IT support and troubleshoot systems and applications issues.
- Daily audit and monitoring of tickets in ServiceNow tool; keep users informed of progress through to resolution
- Analyze emergent business requirements to understand how they can be best developed for the Day & Ross environment
- Analyze new application requirements to understand the impact on existing applications
- Create designs for new applications – develop high level specifications for these new applications
- Consult with people across the business and other IS areas in determining appropriate solutions for outstanding business needs
- Develop solutions by preparing and evaluating alternative workflow solutions, establishing specifications; coordinating production with programmers
- Develop testing plans to cover all functionality and possible scenarios to enable new/changed applications to be completely tested before being released to the business
- Provide written documentation for reference
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
- Other related duties as may be required
Your Skills & Experience:
- University degree in IS, computer science or other relevant field
- Recognized industry certification, including but not limited to;Azure, MS SQL
- Knowledge of .Net, API programming,React.js, PowerShell, an asset
- A suitable combination of education, training and experience may be considered
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IS

- Knowledge of Industry Technologies and software used by Day & Ross including Azure SQL Server, knowledge of DevOps pipeline (i.e. git and JIRA), knowledge in Google Gemini ,Windows OS, IIS, .NET Framework, API and ASP
- Strong communication skills including the ability to relay information (verbal and written) between several parties, across departments, functions, divisions – and deliver a positive customer experience for internal and external customers including 3rd party vendors
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skills; the ability to evaluate current situation, respond quickly to changing requirements, execute and escalate accordingly
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and prioritize appropriately in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to multitask in a deadline driven environment; appropriate sense of urgency and agility to handle changing priorities
- Sound judgement and business acumen in developing and successfully implementing strategies to achieve budget goals and operating objectives
- Results focused; able to hold others accountable
- Strong team and customer service focus; relationship building, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
