The Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.
As a Mechanical Engineer we will rely on your strong technical and analytical skills to design, create and support our robotic system. In addition to individual contributions to the design, you will also support the team through design review & approval, documentation, and process improvement. Experience in high volume, high reliability industries is a major plus. If you’re passionate about robotics and delivering high up-time solutions to solve customer challenges, we want your application!

The Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.
As a Mechanical Engineer we will rely on your strong technical and analytical skills to design, create and support our robotic system. Who You Are
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Licensed with APEGA
- 5+ years of experience in a related mechanical engineering design role
- Detailed mechanical design knowledge of structures, mechanisms, actuators, and material selection
- Proficiency with 3D mechanical CAD and PDM/PLM software for design, simulation and documentation. (Siemens NX & Teamcenter experience preferred but experience with similar applications will be considered)
- Practical understanding of ASME drafting standards and Geometric Dimensions and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience in component design for high volume, high reliability industries.
- Experience with electromechanical assemblies and moving parts a major plus
- Working knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as machining, laser & waterjet cutting, injection molding, rapid prototyping, and sheet metal
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
- Someone with a drive to get things done; designed, validated, documented, produced, and deployed
- Design of robotic hardware and mechanical assemblies for high reliability, mass production, and safety
- Create detailed mechanical designs, 3D CAD models and related documentation in Siemens NX and Teamcenter. This includes dimensioned drawings, Bill of Materials, and manufacturing instructions
- Engineering design calculations, mathematical modelling, FMEA and tolerance analysis
- Lead development efforts of mechatronic systems from initial concept to completion while coordinating with project managers, product team, and other stakeholders
- Ensure designs are suitable and compliant with regulatory and certification requirements
- Lead and participate in design reviews, engineering change orders, and support continuous improvement of product and process with stakeholders across the organization
- Design test plans, perform and guide testing, produce and review design reports for products and features
- Resolve customer affecting issues or bugs with cross-functional teams of mechanical, electrical, test, and embedded firmware engineers.
- Review and approval of professional work products, both external and internally source
