The Beach House is looking for a driven Sommelier to bring our wine program to the next level. As the champion of our wine program, you’ll bring our Head Office Beverage Development (BD) initiatives to life—tracking progress, aligning teams, meeting deadlines, and ensuring flawless execution.

As a Sommelier, you will:
- Be the captain of wine service:
- Ensure all wines are served properly and in ideal conditions (ie: freshness, temperature, glassware cleanliness, etc)
- Provide table-side suggestions, storytelling and service to as many tables as possible
- Open all premium wine bottles for guests
- Be the point of contact for all Front of House leaders and partners for any questions related to wine knowledge and/or service
- Facilitate wine training, both introductory and ongoing, for all Front of House partners
- Assist all other managers with providing exemplary service to all guests on the floor
- Manage our wine program
- Maintain inventory including weekly counts & ordering
- Liaise with sales reps on out of stock items identifying substitutions where needed
- Responsible for new wine menu rollouts (ie: limiting deadstock, ordering & training new products)
- Ensure menus are correct, ie: vintages, spelling, etc.
- Work with our Corporate Beverage Director on the wine menu, identifying low-sellers and making strategic suggestions for additions
- Identify specific sales goals and track & report on category performance
What we need from you:
- A serious passion for wine, service, and how wine can play a huge role in great service
- Self-motivation and the desire to own the wine program with all that comes with it
- 5 years hospitality experience - Bar Manager and/or Leadership experience a significant plus
- A Wine knowledge certification - WSET 2 or higher
- Experience with wine, liquor, or beer suppliers is an asset
- Fine dining experience is an asset
- Major Microsoft Excel skills is a big asset
- Project management experience is an asset
