In accordance with Senate Bylaw 8, the University of Windsor’s Odette School of Business invites applications for the position of Associate Dean, Programs commencing July 1, 2025, for a three to five year term. Located at one of Canada’s major international intersections, the University of Windsor plays a leading role in the future of the region and the Province of Ontario.
The Odette School of Business takes a balanced approach to research and teaching, offering various degrees in business including an undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce Degree, a full-time MBA, and a Master of Management in four subdisciplines. Approximately 1200 full-time, and 400 Master’s-level students study at Odette, supported by approximately 65 full-time faculty positions. The school has been AACSB accredited since 2015.
Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean, Programs is responsible for the leadership and ongoing operations of all graduate and undergraduate academic programs. Activities associated with this position generally include:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead activities related to curriculum development, program maintenance, and new academic programs.
- Oversee the development and execution of academic policies related to academic programs.
- Implement and advance the school’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigenization (EDII) Strategy.
- Manage student academic integrity and misconduct cases.
- Coordinate learning assurance activities with the Associate Dean, Academic.
- Manage enrollment, course offerings, and scheduling in partnership with the Dean.
- Improve student services relating to admission, orientation, and academic support.
- Complete special projects and tasks assigned by the Dean.
- Represent the Dean and the School with external stakeholders.
- Attend meetings on behalf of the Dean when appropriate.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate must hold a rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor, with experience as an academic administrator or in a senior administrative position. A demonstrated track record of collegiality in working with faculty, students, and staff is required. The successful candidate will have a reduced teaching load during their administrative term.
