About the role:

The shipper receiver plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of shipping and receiving activities, inventory management, administrative tasks, and implementing lean process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Shipping and Receiving

  • Maintain organization and upkeep of warehouse.
  • Receive in-bound parts, supplies and materials – physically and in system
  • Pull, stage and label parts for outbound shipping
  • Escalate any discrepancies to supervisor
  • Label, assign and maintain storage and bin locations for all inventory
  • Label and store parts in accurate locations
  • Assist in development and improvement of warehouse and storage plans
  • Assist in development and upkeep of facility 6S
  • Perform regular cycle counts for all inventory and monitor for shrinkage avoidance
  • Perform inter-branch transfers in a timely manner to maintain accurate inventory
  • Other work as may be defined

Parts Delivery and Pick Up

  • Pick up & deliver parts to external and internal customer locations in a timely and safe manner includes in and out of town deliveries.
  • Ensure loads are always properly secured.
  • Maintain parts delivery truck to company standards with regular cleanings – this includes daily disinfecting worksurfaces at the end of each day with supplied wipes and disinfect.
  • Complete vehicle inspection reports (daily, weekly, monthly) and other daily reports
  • Safely operating the company vehicle adhering to all safety requirements, obeying traffic laws and driving undistracted.

Health and Safety

  • Is aware of the employee’s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures as set out in the Health and Safety Manual
  • Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers and customers
  • Is alert to and promptly reports all actual and potentially hazardous situations to Service Manager or Shop Supervisor

Education

  • Grade 12 or equivalent with trade training
  • Industry related experience an asset
  • Valid G License & clean driver's abstract at all times
  • Truck and trailer parts knowledge and experience
  • Safe driving skills with a clean driving abstract
  • Comfortable with prioritizing and handling large volumes of paperwork
  • Comfortable with working in high pace environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Cetaris etc.)
