About This Role

As Maintenance and Painter at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery located in Oakville, Ontario, you will be responsible for the interior maintenance and general contracting of small to medium sized construction and renovation projects. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your initiative and work with minimal supervision while complying with Company policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Key Qualifications And Demonstrated Abilities

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent and knowledge of basic Construction Processes.
  • Proficient knowledge of various construction materials; i.e. Paints and Finishes
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.
  • Exemplifies Arbor’s values of integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with General Maintenance of the Designated Facility within the region.
  • Manages the successful completion of small to medium sized projects.
  • Primarily responsible for providing Painting and General Repairs to the interior and exterior of our facilities as required.
  • Assists internal construction and/or third-party contractors with final finishes (Paint/Drywall) and cleanup of larger projects within the designated region. May be required to spend nights away for out of town projects within the designated region.
  • Provide detailed list of work performed as discussed with the location manager.
  • Performs general building upkeep and ensures the proper maintenance of the funeral homes general appearance and care.
