Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Deputy Fire Chief on a permanent basis at our Co-op Refinery Complex. This position requires on-site work and is based in Regina, SK.


We are looking for someone to drive excellence in emergency planning and response at the Co-op Refinery Complex by leading innovative programs, managing elite response teams, ensuring equipment readiness, and delivering impactful training to protect people, assets, and the environment. What you’ll do:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the development and execution of emergency planning and response programs.
  • Leadership and support for the Emergency Response Teams (Emergency Fire Crew, Technical Rescue Team, and our complex first responders and managing of emergency response equipment to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Advise and collaborate on complex issue, develop and propose specialized solutions. Support an environment focused on emergency response innovative industry leading best practices at CRC.
  • Participate in building and administering programs to manage the physical inventories of all necessary Emergency Response Equipment
  • Oversee and provide guidance to junior team members on emergency preparedness and response at the Complex.
  • Provide customer services to maintenance, process personnel and management, including Emergency Response programs, procedures, fire hazards equipment and related training/administration programs.

The Team: You will work closely with the Deputy Fire Chief as well as the safety team, and will report into the Fire Chief. This team strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, support and community.


The Collaborators: You will work closely with other groups and functions at the Co-op Refinery Complex.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Health, Safety, Security, & Environment (HSSE) and:

  • Have 6-9 years of relevant and progressively responsible experience with Emergency Response, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Have a two-year Diploma in safety or emergency response programs, a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • A NFPA 1001 Level 2 or NFPA 1081 Incipient, & Advanced Exterior; NFPA 472 Hazmat Technician; NFPA 1041 (Industrial Fire Service Instructor) and ICS 200 would be considered assets.
  • You have experience as a Technical Rescue team Member including Confined Space Rescue, and Rope Rescue or as a Medical First Responder.
