Senior Accountant

I am looking for a Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take on a leadership role in our accounting department.

What You’ll Do as a Senior Accountant:

• Reconcile accounts, analyze reports, and process journal entries for direct bill and general ledger accounts.
• Provide guidance to the accounting team, distribute workloads, and offer feedback to support team growth.
• Address inquiries from business partners, clients, and internal departments with professionalism and clarity.
• Manage reinsurance accounting and assist with key financial reporting, including PST, GST, and lease reporting.
• Oversee cash receipts, maintain petty cash, and review accounts payable for accuracy.
• Partner with auditors to ensure smooth year-end audits and support compliance.
• Assist with policy audits and conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards.
• Lead, train, and mentor less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus in accounting.
• Completion of (or close to) your CPA designation.
• At least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
• A strong foundation in accounting practices and principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence to take ownership of tasks, make decisions independently, and provide leadership within the team.
• Proven ability to plan, organize, and motivate others.
• A collaborative approach to building relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• A positive, solutions-focused attitude when working with clients and team members.
