What You’ll Do as a Senior Accountant:
- Reconcile accounts, analyze reports, and process journal entries for direct bill and general ledger accounts.
- Provide guidance to the accounting team, distribute workloads, and offer feedback to support team growth.
- Address inquiries from business partners, clients, and internal departments with professionalism and clarity.
- Manage reinsurance accounting and assist with key financial reporting, including PST, GST, and lease reporting.
- Oversee cash receipts, maintain petty cash, and review accounts payable for accuracy.
- Partner with auditors to ensure smooth year-end audits and support compliance.
- Assist with policy audits and conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus in accounting.
- Completion of (or close to) your CPA designation.
- At least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- A strong foundation in accounting practices and principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence to take ownership of tasks, make decisions independently, and provide leadership within the team.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and motivate others.
- A collaborative approach to building relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- A positive, solutions-focused attitude when working with clients and team members.
