About Freehand Hospitality

Rooted in chef-led creativity, our team is passionate about bringing people together with bold flavours, thoughtful ingredients, and warm, welcoming service. We celebrate diverse culinary styles—from upscale Maritime dining to classic French fare—paired with genuine hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. Every dish tells a story, and every experience celebrates connection, community, and a true sense of place in Halifax. With nine restaurants under our umbrella, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional quality, creativity, and attention to detail in every aspect of our operations.

We are looking for a Menu & Collateral Coordinator to manage and maintain the visual and written integrity of menus and branded collateral across all Freehand Hospitality restaurants. This role is responsible for editing and formatting menu content, overseeing the production of materials such as coasters, matchbooks, business cards, and promotional pieces, and ensuring consistent brand execution across all touchpoints.

In this role, you will get to:

  • Edit, format, and update menus for all nine restaurants, ensuring accuracy and alignment with brand standards;
  • Collaborate with chefs and managers to ensure timely updates and seasonal changes;
  • Lay out menus using Canva and/or InDesign for print and digital distribution;
  • Coordinate the design, production, and inventory of branded items, including coasters, matchbooks, business cards, signage and more;
  • Work closely with suppliers and printers to ensure high-quality output and timely delivery;
  • Maintain consistency in branding across all restaurants;
  • Develop and format promotional pieces for special dinners, events, and limited-time offers;
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align collateral with broader promotional campaigns;
  • Make light updates to restaurant websites, including menu uploads and minor content changes;
  • Balance the collateral and menu needs of all restaurants, managing multiple deadlines and priorities;
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to manage expectations and timelines.

The person we’re looking for has:

  • Proven experience in graphic design, menu editing, or collateral management, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry;
  • Proficiency in Canva and InDesign or similar design software;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • Strong organizational and project management skills;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines;
  • The ambition to grow their skillset and learn from our experienced team of professionals;
  • Experience in web content management systems (e.g., Squarespace or Wordpress) is considered an asset;

What's in it for you?

  • Being a part of a dynamic and growing hospitality group that values creativity and collaboration;
  • Comprehensive Health & Dental Benefits;
  • Employer RRSP plan;
  • Employee Assistance Program;
  • Continuing education support;
  • Discounts at selected Queen’s Marque restaurants;
  • Opportunity for internal career growth.
