THE OPPORTUNITY
- Calibrate thermometer and verify trailer temperatures to ensure compliance with food safety requirements.
- Retrieve and stage materials for packaging lines as per the production schedule and when requested by packaging members.
- Scan and load finished product onto trucks, print shipment paperwork, apply trailer seals, and record information on shipping log.
- Receive production materials from third party warehouse.
- Label all received product and place in correct storage locations.
- Coordinate and schedule additional trailers when required.
- Operate reach truck, forklift, walkie, and manual pallet truck.
- Organize shipping and storage areas and ensure pedestrian areas are clear.
- Assist the packaging department when required.
- Maintain food safety standards in work responsibilities and report food safety issues to QA immediately.
- Work in a safe manner in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act by reporting all hazards, accidents, incidents or near misses to the Supervisor.
- Follow all prescribed SOPs, rotation schedules, HACCP and GMP procedures.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience operating lift equipment (forklift, reach, walkie)
- Read, write, and communicate
- Basic mathematical skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift 3-36 kg
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a cold environment
- Ability to work effectively both as an individual and a team member
