Manager, Fixed Assets Accounting

Hybrid work: 3 days at the office and 2 days remotely

Type of employment: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)

What You’ll Do

Want to start your career with us? Here's an overview of the main responsibilities of this position:

  • Manage asset accounting function and ensure accurate account of company capital assets through asset life cycle management (record, depreciate, report, track, report, and dispose) including appropriate classification, useful life, and method of depreciation;
  • Manage and support corporate and operational project accounting function including project set up, budget, spend and capital expenditure reporting;
  • Perform period end closing tasks such as reviewing team journal entries for assigned accounting areas including capital accruals, gain/loss on disposals, and depreciation and amortization;
  • Partner with Business Units, Global Groups and Corporate to ensure accurate and timely project information is captured and reported;
  • Provide oversight, guidance and review for PP&E related account reconciliations through Blackline;
  • Perform analysis and review of relevant accounts such as construction in progress;
  • Review and support the preparation of period and quarterly financial reports and schedules including continuity schedules and capital spending reports;
  • Participate in project management on interdepartmental upgrades within fixed assets and other groups;
  • Apply internal controls according to SOX and assist with internal and external audits.

What You’ll Need

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree or a professional certification such as CPA.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in team supervision.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Excellent proficiency in office tools like Excel and Word;
  • Detail-oriented, autonomous, and proactive;
  • Ability to prioritize effectively while meeting deadlines;
  • Intuitive ability for optimization;
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on achieving results and fostering collaboration.

Language Skills

  • Bilingualism required (French and English), both written and spoken, as the person will be called upon to serve English-speaking regions.
