Summary

We are currently recruiting for a customer facing Technical Sales for the Valves & Actuation and Measurement Instrumentation business groups. This position will be based out of Burnaby and will report to the Sales Manager.

Your primary role will be to drive Customer preference and loyalty for Spartan’s valve portfolio, solutions and services. To be successful in this role, you will work very collaboratively across the Spartan account team, bringing the best of our Sales, Operations and Service capabilities in support of customer satisfaction. You will focus on understanding the Customers’ applications, building trusting customer relationships, and develop strategic account plans in partnership with Account Managers.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Drive Customer satisfaction and Customer preference for Valves & Actuation and Measurement products and services
  • Proactively pursue opportunities and determine customer requirements to support business goals
  • Act as a technical consultant to develop and apply valve and measurement solutions within BC
  • Develop and expand Customer relationships
  • Strong team approach; active collaboration with Account Manager and Engineering counterparts
  • Presentation development and delivery; support Customer and Spartan training
  • Drive growth and deliver on business goals across the VA & MI Groups
  • Champion all Valve and Measurement Business Unit growth initiatives, support planning processes, and plan execution

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent Technology diploma
  • 3-5 years related process industry, and sales related experience
  • Application engineering experience and associated understanding of basic fluid dynamics, process control, and engineering specification
  • Product knowledge of Valves & Actuation and/or Measurement; with ability to learn the other
  • Highly proactive self-starter with the ability to develop and execute action plan
  • Strong presentations skills (development and delivery)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Strong team player with proven customer service skills
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic; Highly motivated and innovative
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites throughout the province, account calling and ownership
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
