Microsoft 365 Specialist/Administrator

We are looking for a Microsoft 365 Specialist/Administrator to join our dynamic End User Computing (EUC) team. In this role, you will help support our IT modernization efforts by providing technical leadership and domain expertise in key Microsoft platforms.
As a Microsoft 365 Specialist/Administrator, you will help shape the digital workplace by managing important Microsoft platforms, including MS Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform.
Reporting directly to the Manager of End User Computing, you will take ownership of planning and developing innovative applications and platforms, ensuring seamless integration and data transformations to meet programming standards and our requirements. Your work will help guide the LCBO’s IT transformation and modernization initiatives, collaborating across teams to improve systems and advocate for enhanced capabilities.
- On-Call Rotation (tbc): This role may require participation in an On-Call rotation every 4 weeks/months to address urgent issues related to the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
About the Role:
- Lead Technical Expertise: Act as the go-to subject matter expert for Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Viva, Purview, and other Microsoft 365 applications, offering guidance and best practices.
- Manage Platform Operations: Oversee the daily administration, licensing, and automation of Microsoft 365 platforms, ensuring smooth operations and efficient usage.
- Guide Integrations & Updates: Oversee the integrations, feature updates, and roadmap for Microsoft 365, ensuring they align with the business’s evolving needs.
- Ensure System Integrity: Analyze and integrate new applications, ensuring compliance with IT strategy, modern software development practices, and industry standards.
- Manage Advanced Projects: Lead or contribute to complex technical projects, including Microsoft 365 implementations, integrations, and system optimizations.
- Create Training & Support: Develop and deliver training presentations and documentation to help users adopt and use Microsoft 365 tools.
- Monitor & Troubleshoot: Proactively monitor Microsoft 365 platforms, troubleshoot issues, and inform teams of outages or changes, minimizing disruption to services.
- Maintain Security & Compliance: Ensure Microsoft 365 solutions are compliant with industry security standards, emphasizing data protection and risk management.
- Evaluate Latest Technologies: Stay informed of the latest Microsoft 365 features and innovations, recommending technologies that could improve efficiency.
- Document Processes: Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for all Microsoft 365 processes, configurations, and security protocols.
About You:
Education & Experience:
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience managing and delivering complex Microsoft 365 platforms, including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, Power Bi, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience as a Global Admin managing Microsoft 365 tenants, with a strong understanding of platform management, configurations, and updates.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in configuring, maintaining, and supporting SharePoint Online, including content publishing and team sites.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 tools and services (e.g., PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI) for app design and development.
- Proficiency in .NET technologies (C#, React, Angular, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core), and front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting, Graph API, and SharePoint Framework (SPFX).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Security & Compliance Center, and other security features of Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM), identity access management (IAM), and data loss prevention (DLP) technologies.
Certifications & Knowledge:
- Microsoft M365, Power Platform, or Azure certifications (an asset).
- Experience with industry security standards, cloud security best practices, and platform-specific tools.
- Knowledge of modern software development best practices and their application within a cloud environment.
