The Information Technology team touches almost every aspect of AHS providing the technical expertise and support for computers, electronic communications, software, security, and information systems to improve patient care processes and the operation and management of the organization.
About the Role:
The Manager, Workforce Scheduling Systems is accountable for driving and measuring an integrated, modern technology strategy to support workforce scheduling services throughout the Alberta Healthcare Ecosystem. Responsibilities include managing a team, assigning work packages, tracking progress and due dates, and delivering commitments to clients. This includes developing workplans for upgrades or enhancements, monitoring progress, productivity, and quality of work, providing feedback and coaching, and regular client communication.
What You Will Do:
Leadership and Department Management
Inspire and mentor a high-performing team, cultivating a culture of collaboration, creativity, and results. This includes clear coaching, support, and direction, fostering strong alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
Enhance Client Experience
Address complex operational customer service challenges and drive improvements in service outcomes. Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance shared service delivery.
Provide Strategic Support
Offer strategic recommendations to improve scheduling system services based on feedback from schedulers and stakeholders. Act as a key resource for resolving complex issues, leveraging industry expertise to devise effective solutions.
Champion Best Practices
Lead initiatives to establish and refine quality assurance protocols, improving quality outcomes and maximizing financial performance.
Lead Information Initiatives
Develop and support programs for internal teams and stakeholders, promoting ongoing learning and professional development.

Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree or MBA is preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience in technology transformation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven success in leading and developing high-performance teams and improving operational efficiency. Strong skills in offering strategic recommendations and enhancing service delivery. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Comprehensive understanding and experience with healthcare. Strong budget management skills and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, and ITIL are highly desirable.
